BAGHDAD, January 12, 2026 — The 11th Iraq Energy Exhibition & Conference (IEE Energy Exhibition 2026 Iraq) concluded today at the Baghdad International Fair, marking a significant milestone in the country’s energy sector transformation. The three-day event, held from January 10–12, 2026, brought together over 450 companies from more than 16 countries and regions, attracting over 21,250 visitors.
The exhibition floor was abuzz with activity as exhibitors from around the world showcased cutting-edge technologies and solutions. Major participants included Hanwha, Gastech (Spain), Swiss Mini Pavilion, RZD, Rail Expo, ABB, Oil Show, LG Hausys, Wood Expo, roketsan, Dimdex (Qatar), Mapna, Innotrans (Germany), Platin, and Automechanika (Dubai), among others.
In his opening address, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani emphasized the government’s strategic focus on the energy sector, including both conventional and renewable sources, to ensure sustainable development. He highlighted ambitious plans to increase electricity production capacity to over 57,000 megawatts through projects with international partners such as Siemens and General Electric. The Prime Minister also noted significant progress in reducing gas flaring by over 72%, with a target for full elimination by the end of 2028, and outlined a comprehensive plan to transition toward renewable energy at the district and sub-district levels
