- Assembling the Tripod Structure
The core tripod structure typically consists of three main legs and connecting components.
- Component Check: Lay out all parts, including the aluminum legs, connecting brackets, and bolts
- Connecting the Legs: Attach the legs to the central connecting plate or bracket using the provided stainless steel bolts. Hand-tighten initially, then use a suitable spanner (e.g., for M10 or M12 bolts) to secure them firmly, ensuring the tripod is stable and all angles are correct
- Installing Solar Panels and Final Adjustments
With the structure complete, the solar panels are carefully installed.
- Panel Placement: Lift the solar panels onto the rail structure gently to avoid damaging the panels or the roof
- Securing Panels: Use mid-clamps and end-clamps to fix the panels to the rails. These clamps hook onto the edges of the solar panel frames and are bolted down to the rails, holding the panels firmly in place without drilling into the panels themselves
- Tilt Angle Adjustment (if applicable): Some tripod systems allow for the tilt angle of the entire array to be adjusted. Loosen the adjustment mechanism, set the desired angle (e.g., optimized for the local latitude and seasonal sun path), and re-tighten all components securely
- System Testing: Once all panels are installed, a final inspection is necessary. Check the stability of the entire structure and verify that all electrical connections are properly made and protected
